Oil Clean Up Efforts Ongoing After BP Oil Spill

Cleaning up an oil spill is something that takes a lot of skill, labor and time. Once oil infiltrates a beach, it can cause all sorts of problems like pollution, destruction of wildlife, messing up the ecosystem, and causes businesses owner to lose out because no one will visit beaches tarnished with oil. Oil clean up efforts will help with beach restoration, but it takes certain weapons to do the job right. HESCO® Concertainer® Units is one weapon that has proven to be working in Dauphin Island, AL and a few other places. The units are transported, unloaded and assembled with ease and can be put within 20 minutes. Two people working together can put them up and then fill them with sand using a sand blower. The units have a stable core with a pyramid design that has three rows stacked on top of the other. It makes them strong enough to withstand strong winds from a hurricane and they also prevent beach erosion. Also, an agent like Enviro-Armour™ can be added to the units to encapsulate oil by converting it into a floating solid. Once that is complete, the solidified oil can then be used as:

·    Plastic

Another oil cleanup methods being used involved absorbent booms. These booms can be strategically placed in the Gulf waters and they will soak up the oil as it floats on the water. Workers can cleanup the oil much easier and it will not ruin the beaches or kill off any wildlife.
