The firepots that I found are all ceramic. The firepots come in a wide range of colors and designs so there is plenty of choice for getting one to match the décor. The one I actually bought has a beautiful copper glaze which makes it a unique work of art and just right for the person I have in mind.

These firepots use an alcohol based gel fuel which is a safety feature as there is no liquid fuel to spill. There is also no messy ash to dispose of that you would get in a fire pit or wood burning stove, which makes them very clean.

The fire pots are small enough to fit onto a table top or have pride of place in a brick hearth. They are the perfect accent to any home indoors or out.

Ceramic firepots are very easy to use so there is no problem with an older person being able to enjoy them. The ceramic firepot that I bought has a stainless steel reservoir that holds the gel fuel. Just fill the stainless reservoir with the fuel gel to about one inch from top and carefully light it with a lighter or match. The dancing flames last for 2-3 hours and will keep you mesmerized.

The stainless steel fuel reservoir can be removed so it can be used as a vase in the summer months. How cool is that? Each Firepot comes with a bonus metal snuffer so the flame can be extinguished safely and easily.

3. Be careful to get the right size that will fit in with the surroundings and be comfortably safe. The firepots are relatively safe but just make sure that you do not get a large one that is going to sit on a small table and be top heavy.
